Holidays can be a great way for all the family to relax and switch off with a change of scenery. If you are planning a holiday aboard with a toddler, then you may have to spend a little longer thinking about things and planning your travel as well as your time there.
Many parents worry about taking their baby or toddler on a plane packed full of people. Tired toddlers, travel sickness, boredom and a lack of facilities can be a recipe for disaster. But with some careful planning and preparation, this doesn’t need to be the case.
Plan ahead and allow plenty of time in order not to feel rushed or stressed when getting to and through the airport. Kids like to be able to spend time looking around at the surroundings and if you try and rush them and seem panicked then they will often start to play up or get upset.
Load up your phone or tablet with plenty of toddler friendly games that they can play when waiting for the plane and also on the plane. You may also want to pack some colouring activities and crayons for when screen time needs to end.
