Safari holidays are amazing and it may be that you had one booked but have had to cancel or postpone it due to Covid-19. Hopefully, you have been able to rearrange it for next year and you have something to look forward to. A safari holiday really is something special and may be a holiday that you only get the opportunity to do once in your life time as they are often not cheap.
If you are planning a safari trip and have one or two animals in mind that you are desperate to see, then make sure you do your research before booking. You will find that you can often book specific safari trips depending on what you want to see. Some wildlife is only find in certain areas or at specific times of the year as some animals prefer to be out in the hot wet climate whilst others are more active in the cooler, drier months.
Once you have booked your safari, have a chat with your tour guide before going out and explain what you would hope to see. Read plenty of reviews to get an idea of what other peoples’ experiences were like and what you can expect.
Be sure to go well prepared with the right clothing and footwear as this will make the whole experience much more enjoyable. It is advisable to wear khaki coloured clothing in layers so you can remove and add them as the temperature changes. If you go to South Africa, it is often cool in the night and early morning but very hot in the mid morning and afternoon.
