The essential guide to packing for a holiday abroad

When it comes to packing for a holiday abroad, many of us get stressed and start to worry that we will remember everything we need to and that we will be able to fit it all in our cases. Most airlines have strict luggage restrictions often only allowing 15 or 20 kg per case. You may be able to purchase extra weight allowance but this often costs a fair bit.

When thinking about what to pack, make lists. Ideally make a list of all clothes to take and then a separate list of other items such as chargers, make up and toiletries. Once you have these lists you may want to split them in to two; one that can be packed a few days before you go and the other list for items that have to be packed last minute. This allows you to get stuff out of your head and down on paper. As and when you think of something else you can add it to the list. Once you have packed it, tick it off the list and keep referring back to it. You may want to create these lists a month or so in advance so it gives you plenty of time to buy anything that you may need but not already have.
