Planning a wedding abroad can be particularly difficult due to trying to organise everything from an entirely different country. However, it takes some of the pressure off when it comes to the big day. Unlike a typical wedding ceremony, there are fewer expectations because a wedding abroad is quite different and can’t be compared to the more traditional weddings of friends and family who have got married before you.
There will always be things that could go wrong, but the same is true wherever you get married and a surprising number of people worry about things that are out of their control even on the day itself. Try to take the pressure off and enjoy the day – it’s unlikely that anything will go significantly wrong so there’s little point in fretting about the possibilities.
It’s always disappointing when some people you’d hoped would be guests can’t be present due to costs, issues with annual leave or similar, but this also happens wherever you are – people become ill, have their childcare plans fall through or encounter problems with their vehicles.
Ultimately the day is about you and your partner and your love for one another, so push those worries aside and focus on making wonderful memories!
