The idea of jetting off somewhere in the sun to get married on the golden sands of an exotic beach, is the idea of a perfect wedding for many of us. The reality unfortunate can be a little more complex and although the day is all about you and your partner you do have some factors to consider that could affect your day.
One of the main issues that people talk about when choosing to get married abroad, is who will be able to attend the wedding. If you only want a very few selected people there, then you would need to discuss it with them prior to booking to see if they would be able to come. They may need to check with work commitments, obtain a passport or simply check that they can afford it. You have to expect that many people may not be able to attend and if that was the case would you still be happy.
Some couples decide to get married abroad with one or two friends and family members there on the day but then have a big party when they get back where they can invite everyone that couldn’t be there. There is no right or wrong way to have a wedding, each couple is different and at the end of the day it has to be your decision, just make sure you are aware of all the complications that may arise in having a wedding abroad.
