If you are getting married abroad somewhere hot you may be looking for an alternative to the traditional tiered wedding cake. The issue is that a large iced tiered cake could get sweaty in warm weathers and can’t really be stored in the fridge, this means by the time the cake is cut and served you end up with a sticky mess of icing and warm cake… not ideal!
However there are some great alternatives that you could have instead of sticking with the traditional, here are some of my favourites:-
Cheese cakes – now clearly these won’t last long in the sun but the great thing about these cakes is that they can be stored in the fridge then brought out ready to be cut and served later.
Individual cream cakes – again these can be stored in the fridge then presented on a tiered stand give the impression of a tradition cake set up.
Fruit mountain – this can look fantastic, arrange a selection of exotic fruit on tiered stands then have a chocolate fountain next to the arrangement with cocktail skewers so that people can make their own chocolate covered kebabs.
